The Dalkey Archive Press at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign will enroll students for their new program that is designed to provide a career for translators at any stage in their lives. This program takes off in January 2010. The course of study runs into about a year and during that time students have the opportunity to complete one book-length literary translation to be published by Dalkey Archive Press, with emphasis on literary fiction and the books to be translated will be selected by Dalkey Archive Press in consultation with the student translator.
The program is expected to be highly competitive and there are always professionals at hand to coach the students, such as Editors at Dalkey Archive Press, who will be assigned to train student applicants on a one to one basis or online or on videoconferences.
